Argus Community

Argus Community provides a wide array of care and case management services to those challenged by chronic physical and mental health issues, regardless of the ability to pay. Argus also addresses the entire spectrum of substance use/abuse, from detoxification and medically assisted outpatient treatment to residential care. Argus Community's mission is to provide innovative programs that help severely disadvantaged teens, adults and their families free themselves from poverty and drug abuse and build new lives based on work, hope, and responsibility.
Argus provides a drug-free, safe and nurturing environment in which persons on the fringes of society can acquire education and skills and transform maladaptive attitudes and behaviors. We emphasize self-help, personal responsibility, and mutual support. Argus was founded in the South Bronx in 1968 as a substance abuse treatment provider, and expanded its scope to address challenges raised by homelessness, HIV/AIDS, and welfare reform.
