For more than 30 years, Harlem United’s (HU’s) mission has remained the same: to provide healthcare, housing, prevention and supportive services to those most in need throughout Upper Manhattan and the South Bronx.
List of services/programs rendered by the organization – HU’s social services span four programmatic areas (Health Services; Housing, Prevention; and Supportive Services) to offer vulnerable populations the following: medical, behavioral, dental, and specialty healthcare; permanent supportive, transitional and shelter housing models; infectious disease prevention and testing; substance use and harm reduction services; intensive case management and care coordination; linkage to benefits and entitlements; an AIDS Adult Day Health Care; food and nutrition services; vocational education; and more.
Annually, Harlem United provides dignified housing for almost 1,000 formerly homeless people, conducts more than 23,000 medical visits, engages over 10,000 people across all our programs, and provides in excess of 20,000 hot meals and pantry bags to those in need. Harlem United operates with a total annual revenue of approximately $51 million and a staff of 320+ employees. Our roots are planted in the community and together, we build a healthier future.
