Options for Community Living

Options for Community Living, Inc. (Options), established in 1982, is a not for profit organization, tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.  Programs are specialized to serve individuals with psychiatric disabilities and other serious chronic illnesses including HIV/AIDS.  Services are based on the individual needs of program participants, and include housing opportunities, community resource development, daily living skills training, case management and the pursuit of vocational and educational goals.  Each year, Options helps more than 2000 Long Islanders – adults and children – fulfill their potential for independent living. 

Programs and services are available in Nassau and Suffolk unless otherwise stated:

 

• NYS Office of Mental Health Licensed Community Residence and Apartment Treatment Programs (Suffolk only)

• Supportive Housing for Adults recovering from mental illness

• Mobile Residential Support Team for adults in mental health supportive housing (Suffolk only)

• Home and Community Based Services empower people recovering from mental illness and/or substance use disorder to achieve personal recovery goals (Suffolk only) 

• Health Home Care Coordination for Adults and Children connect people to health care providers and resources (Medicaid eligibility required) 

• Supportive Housing for formerly homeless or inadequately housed Individuals and families with Disabilities and/or HIV/AIDS that is long-term and affordable 

• Financial Assistance and housing services to help People Living with HIV/AIDS to access and maintain housing

• Supportive Housing Rental Subsidies for Homeless Health Home Members (Nassau only)

• Rapid Rehousing Program for homeless individuals and families (Nassau only) 

• Ryan White funded Case Management, Education, and Insurance Enrollment

• Housing financial assistance for those impacted by COVID-19 and in danger of losing housing. (Rent assistance – Town of Brookhaven, Nassau County residents only)
